This song is not only beautiful, but delivers an important message. Especially in these unpredictable, tumultuous and sometimes downright scary times. Especially now at the holidays, when we get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of so many to-do lists, parties, and gift-giving. Especially with the atrocities going on in places like Aleppo. Can you take a moment, every day, to be kind? To thank those that help you (how about your pilates clients? Even the ones you dread teaching every week?). To ALWAYS say please when asking, when ordering, when inquiring. To be truthful. Remember, what goes around does indeed come back around, it’s the magic of Karma. We all have places to go, but remember that: we ALL have places to go (if you drive anywhere in Northern Virginia then you certainly know that everyone has somewhere to be and they are all in a hurry). And when the fruits of your labor come into being, can you stay humble, or do you feel a need to shout it from the mountaintops? Be proud of what you do, but not boastful. Those that care about your achievements will know and you won’t have to say a thing. And remember to help the next person achieve their goals & dreams… that’s what true leaders do. Stay humble, stay kind, always. Happy Holidays.
Hold the door, say please, say thank you
Don’t steal, don’t cheat, and don’t lie.
I know you got mountains to climb, but
Always stay humble and kind.
When those dreams you’re dreamin’ come to you,
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride, but
Always stay humble and kind.”
